Audrey and me on a swing in July of 1992, just a few days before we left South Carolina and moved to Fort Worth, where I would attend seminary.During my first year in seminary, you celebrated your second birthday. Mimi and Papa (Audrey's maternal grandparents) came down from Texarkana to celebrate with us.
One of your favorite things to do in our seminary days was to don your "Jesus Hat" (Later, "Mary Hat."). This was just unbelievably adorable.
You also loved experimenting with unusual hairstyles!
And you loved going to "Papa's park" (Spring Lake Park in Texarkana) and swinging with us.
Not long after your third birthday, you lined up your stuffies and posed for this picture. You loved to make funny faces! You also loved your Bugs Bunny doll that I won for you in a carnival game at Six Flags.
At the seminary's annual Fall Carnival in '94, you dressed up as Jonah, being swallowed (or was it spit out?) by the whale. This costume that Mama made you was the cutest one there!
At your fourth birthday, we got you a pinata, which you loved. You hated the fact that it was going to be broken!
That summer, while staying with Mimi and Papa in Texarkana, you read Malacca (this was Audrey's aunt's dog) a story. She really enjoyed it!
You loved swimming in Memaw and Grandaddy's (these were my parents - may their memory be eternal!) pool. Even more, you loved me giving you boat rides!
Around Halloween of '95, you actually had two costumes - a scarecrow, which you wore to daycare,
And Snoopy, which you wore to the Fall Carnival:
When we took you to Sea World that summer, you were at first terrified of the dolphins! But then you got used to them, and even became bold enough to feed one.
I'll never forget walking hand-in-hand with you through Sea World. We had the best time! You were the sweetest four-year-old in the whole world!
To be continued....

Oh Father James,
This is precious. What a sweet gift to your beautiful daughter. Thank you for sharing your memories with all of us! : )
Beautiful. It is important to process these transitions. It all goes so fast, doesn't it?
